We didn’t use this for last year’s garden, and now we know better! We weeded and weeded and weeded! So, now we’re using this weed cloth, which is nice and heavy, and it will do a great job in taking care of weed growth. A simple idea that makes so much difference. The difference between a garden being a joy or a chore!
My garden is all in and I used this over the entire thing. I cut small circles to let the veggies they and held it down with landscaping spikes that I ordered separate. Easy to unroll and cut. And a very generous amount!
This is the best weed barrier landscape fabric I've gotten -- it's heavyweight, but permeable enough to allow water to soak through to water plants. This fabric is nice and wide, so covers a large area of our vegetable garden without having to piece it together very much. I simply use a box cutter to slice a large X into the fabric and then dig in seedlings -- I tamp down the soil and press the pieces of the fabric around the plant, and it stays in place. Because this is such a large roll, we will also use it to replenish the weed barrier in our pea stone walkway -- over time, the stones have migrated and weeds have grown in, so it's time to lay down new fabric and reapply. Very pleased to have this good quality product.
This stuff is HEAVY DUTY. It’s much better than the stuff I’ve bought from big box hardware stores in the past. This roll goes a long way and the width is perfect for my purposes. I am using this to replace the thinner weed barrier cloth I laid down in my yard last year because the old stuff already has weeds coming through it. This weed barrier fabric is much more opaque and it’s heavier. It’s easy to lay down, easy to put pins through and its completely opaque. The weave is a lot tighter and the fabric is thicker. This stuff is built to last.
With the lack of snow and cold weather here in PA I’m getting a little excited for spring. I decided to go ahead and get all my stuff ready for my flower beds this year. I moved in to a new house over the winter and can’t wait to start ripping things out. This roll will be perfect for the job at hand. 50 feet leaves more than enough for me to use if a patch job needs done somewhere. The fabric feels very durable and is pretty thick. I’ll update once I have everything down and how it looks!
